Genna de Bont was born in Tasmania. As a child she lived in Papua New Guinea, South Australia and Western Australia. She attended university in Melbourne and after graduating worked in a number of educational and hospital settings with people who had disorders of communication and literacy. Her interests include travelling, reading and painting. She has three adult daughters and lives in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges with her family, a dog and two cats. Genna is the author of THE PEPPER GATE TREE (2007 University of Queensland Press). PRIVACY (2013 Harper Collins), is Genna’s second novel.
