Margaret Wilcox was born in Sydney. Her great ambition was to see the world and in 1966 she left Australia for a twelve-month working holiday. She returned 30 years later.
During that time she lived on three continents and travelled extensively. Her first job was as a “Golden Girl” for the Australian Government in the UK, followed by a career in oil and later aluminium in the Middle East. She also helped to establish Al Noor, the first school for disabled children in Dubai.
GONE (2008) tells the dramatic story of Margaret’s long search to be reunited with her 3 year old daughter Tanya who was abducted by the child’s father.
